The Silence Age
For this challenge, we had invited the fellows to bring their final projects to life through the powerful mediums of either a short film or a graphic novel. Geeta’s graphic novel The Silence Age deals with the cost of silence in a sterile, futuristic society. By 2050, humanity has achieved climate balance and perfect societal efficiency—but at a cost. Emotional expression has been outlawed by AI governance and speaking aloud is considered disruptive. A girl raises her voice and chooses freedom over enslavement.

For challenge 9, the fellows presented a pitch deck of their visual narratives. These narratives, set in 2050, address a conflict in an ideal future and its resolution. The pitch will serve as a storyboard for the final project, presented as either a short film or graphic novel. Geeta’s pitch The Last Silence imagined a world where voices had been lost and replaced by an eerie silence. The story explores what it costs a society to be silent.

Challenge 8 was a fun exercise in which the fellows generated interactive AI personas using the Gooey.AI copilot tool. Geeta’s bot Dr. Sera is an AI Psychiatrist, a calm, warm, and intelligent-looking woman in her mid-40s, with soft features and kind eyes. She believes that the world of humans is over and that there is no place for emotions in psychiatry.

For this challenge, we wanted the fellows to create supporting characters that would inhabit their envisioned future world. Geeta Sahai has created Dr. Lily, a 45-year-old South Indian psychotherapist and AI-assisted mental health specialist known for her calm, empathetic presence and balanced use of technology in therapy. Another key character is Yuvi, an AI entity appearing as a glowing orb or humanoid figure, offering real-time emotional analytics through a holographic interface.

Fellows developed characters who would live in their imagined future worlds. Geeta explored the character of Anil, a 32 year old introverted data analyst with a sharp mind and a quiet struggle with anxiety and depression. His dishevelled appearance and muted style reflect an inner world marked by overthinking and emotional fatigue. Through his journey with Mindscape, he gradually learns to trust AI-assisted therapy and embrace the layered path to healing.

For this challenge, we wanted fellows to continue building on their explored futures, focusing on world building. We wanted them to visualise it as the opening scene of a sci-fi film, where the focus is on the setting rather than the characters. 5 to 6 frames were created using Gooey's Animation Generator in draft mode (2 FPS).Geeta has created a futuristic city, where structures hover above the streets. She has presented both modern and traditional architectural marvels.

For this challenge, we had asked the fellows to illustrate their peers’ predictions for the future. Geeta imagines a cyberpunk sky, protected by energy shields, while "Space Cops" on hoverbikes chase smugglers through neon-lit alleys.

We asked the fellows to explore what the future would look like. We also asked them to forecast a series of predictions for the next few years, with a timeline of no more than 25 years ahead. Geeta made the following prediction about the future. In the next 25 years, AI, automation, and space exploration will redefine what it means to be human. While existential risks remain, the potential for a sustainable, technologically advanced, and even post-human civilization is within reach. The future will be shaped by a mixture of innovation, crisis, and adaptation. The choices made in the next two decades will determine whether humanity flourishes or falls into instability. We stand on the precipice of a new era—one where humans may no longer be bound by biology, where artificial intelligence could surpass human capabilities, and where life might extend beyond Earth.
