Here's an update regarding the making of the Huaraches. We bought an old sheet of rubber car mat and few cotton shoe laces as material for making this footwear. As tools we used a retractable blade knife that you commonly find in a stationary store and a hand drill with a 3 mm drill bit. We loosely followed this tutorial http://www.instructables.com/id/Upcycled-Minimalist-Running-Huaraches-or-Lifestyle/ Overall we did learn a lot in making these footwear, though it wasn't practical to be used as a daily wear since the rubber was quite brittle. We need to find more robust material for making the sole. Here are pictures from the making to give you an idea and inspire you to make Huaraches too.

Last year 60,00,000+ Indians across the country participated. Daan Utsav is NOT an NGO or organisation. It is a movement. It has no employees and all activities are driven by passionate and committed volunteers who are keen to spread the message of giving. Anyone can be a volunteer and can do any giving activity in their home, community or office.
